Homemade Pizza

On Sundays I always like preparing food at home. This Sunday was a Pizza-Day, made very easy with the Kitchen Aid Artisan and the Recipe from the chef Panos Ioannidis. Keep reading if you want to check how you can also have a great day at home with a homemade pizza!

The original recipe in Greek as well as the Video Recipe from Panos Ioannidis you can find here: https://tinyurl.com/chefpizza. For ingredients and instruction in English as well as my tips go on reading:

A table with the ingredients for a pizza: basil, tomatoes, garlic, olive oil and pizza dough

Ingredients

Pizza Dough
500gr Flour (I use the one which is special for pizza)
8g salt
10g sugar
8g dry yeast
350ml water

Tomato Sauce
100g cherry tomatoes
Half clove of garlic
4-5 basil leaves
60 ml olive oil

Instructions for the Tomato Sauce

Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them with a hand blender until you have a smooth sauce

Instructions for the Pizza Dough

  1. Put the flour with, the salt, the sugar and the yeast in the mixer and mix slowly.
  2. Start adding the water and increase the speed to medium-fast.
  3. Once the dough doesn’t stick to the mixing ball it’s ready.
  4. Take it out, add some flour and work it until it is not sticky at all.
  5. Divide it into two pieces, create two balls and put them in the fridge for around 40min.

Once ready open the first one with a rolling pin. Add the tomato sauce leaving a margin of around two centimeters. Finally choose the toppings you like. I put cheese, bacon-ham, peppers and mushrooms, but you can add your favorite ones.

Place the pizza on a pizza stone or on the back part of a baking pan and put it in a preheated oven at 200o Celsius (392 Fo) . Et voilà your perfect homemade pizza is ready! Enjoy 🙂

First Tip: The original recipe says 250o, but this is too much for my oven. So, I found out that 200o is the perfect temperature. Bake for around 12-15 min. until it takes a nice color.

Second Tip: Prepare the second one, the time you are ready to put it in the oven, otherwise your dough may be soaky.
