The days of shopping

If you have decided to split the cooking process and cook some things ahead, split your shopping list accordingly. On the first shopping day, you should buy everything for the recipes that you decided to cook ahead, as well as the ingredients that you need for the other ones such as flour and sugar. Buy fresh vegetables, ham and fruit one day before the afternoon tea party.

The days of cooking

What I found is always very useful for me is to organise myself well before I start cooking. It is important that your cooking surface is clean. Put all the ingredients you will need in front of you (Mise en place), measure the right quantities and have your recipe book / iPad, etc. next to you. Check if you need to preheat the oven and now you are ready to start cooking!

The day of the afternoon party

Take the things you have already cooked out of the refrigerator, so that they gradually come to room temperature. Cook the rest of the things you have decided to. Set your table. Don’t forget to put some flowers and decorate it appropriately. In case you want, you can warm up the things from the freezer for just a few seconds in the microwave.

Now it’s time for you to get ready and wear a beautiful smile to welcome your guests. We wish you a great time with them!

Stay tuned to find out more about the recipes we suggest for the most tasty afternoon tea party!
